Well, I changed my online profile and I have kind of given up on this crazy world of dating because I am somewhat disheartened. With my updated profile, I know that a lot more guys have actually read my profile. And... well... it appears that my piss-take profile is attracting a particular cohort of men- FARMERS!
Maybe I am over-generalising, but I didn't think there were that many farmers still left in Victoria, and in particular, close to Melbourne but the ones that are left seem to find me. A spring onion farmer, a dairy farmer, a pest-sprayer on a berry farm, a cattle farmer.... what on earth is happening here? My grandmother would turn in her grave if I dated any of these men. Why? Because my grandfather was a blockie. He worked hard. He worked too hard. It's not a profitable pursuit. It's rigourous work which requires muscles and tending to some kind of area of grass. And I hate this kind of thing. I CAN'T garden. I am actually thinking of calling Jim's mowing right now. My garden is disgusting.
Actually, there were farmers on both sides of my family, if you include great-grandparents. Both in Australia and overseas. And it's a tough lifestyle. And while genetics may make me predisposed to farmers, I don't necessarily think I should go there.
